WORKING CLASS HEROES - ALEX SPENCER

So to start let me just say that I'm writing this with my arms stuck to my desk by a combination of sweat and chocolate ice cream, weird but yeah it'll make sense in a second.

Haha, well anyway my name is Alex Spencer. I'm grew up for a while and spent the last six years in Modesto, CA where the freeskiing scene basically consisted of me and a few of my friends. Seriously, Ive been walking around town before wearing a "I am a Skier" shirt, and somebody asked me "What's a sky-er?" Pretty much spent my summers lurking newschoolers while working at a gym desk/lifeguarding (First Picture) to pay for my weekly 4 hour round trips of driving to get to the nearest hill (dodge ridge). Sandwiched around that, I went to middle school and now once again reside in South Lake Tahoe in my early 20's.  While waiting through the grudgingly slow hiring process for the California Highway Patrol, I scoop ice cream with the coveted Jason Arens at the Red Hut Soda Fountain  (Picture 2) where I am often greeted by a sharp whipping from a moist towel, balancing out the fact that he got me the job.  But more importantly, I seriously love Surface skis.  I was on three different pairs of No Times this year due to binding rips/skis exploding but the No Times have by far been my favorite ski to ride and to say that you guys took awesome care of me doesn't do you any justice.  But the early rise gives the awesome un-catchiness you get with rockered skis while still keeping that edge underfoot. Super easy to get a good pop on them and the dimensions just lock you right into a nice stagger while riding switch. Along with the siiiiiick graphic  by Boronowski, I was able to spend the best winter I ever had while being able to look down at whats on my feet with constant pleasure while on the chair.  So, a couple other shots I sent to you guys are from an Alpine Trip I took with some old homies down from Modesto who are now living in San Lou Obispo and are in the Cal Poly Ski Club.  One shot is a nice little nose tap on a bonk and the other is right before a front-up on a small up-flat-down that Alpine set up for the club while we were there.  Honestly, I wish I had more shots but I usually tend to be the guy either behind the camera or way too distracted just having fun to film.  Either way the least I hope this submission can do is let you guys know how much I appreciate the presence that Surface has in the ski world and just for being sick dudes in general.  Also, I hope you guys can at least get a good laugh at being landed on while filming.. 0:18 (view that here)
